Round 5 Spain

Track History: Jarama and Monttjuic Circuits (1968- 1981), Jerez (1986-1990) and Circuit de Catalunya (1991-)

Most Successful Drivers: (6 wins), Mika Hakkinen (3), Nigel Mansell (3), Alain Prost (3) and Jackie Stewart (3)

The Circuit de Catalunya is set to host its twentieth Spanish Grand Prix in 2010 since its first outing in 1991. A circuit that tests drivers on their all-round ability with a good mix of sweeping turns, tight bends and lengthy straights, the track at Barcelona provides a good F1 spectacle. Not one of the easiest circuits to overtake on, turn nine is one of the stand out features of the Circuit de Catalunya, as ‘Campsa’ is a quick right hander with an unstable entry. Known well by the drivers due to the use of the track in winter testing, the race at Barcelona is well-supported and the Spanish F1 fans will be cheering on Spaniard once again in his first season with Ferrari.
