Traditionally the first circuit on the F1 calendar, the Australian Grand Prix is second on the schedule in 2010 and Australian F1 fans will gather in Albert Park in Melbourne when the Formula 1 teams arrive in March. Albert Park has hosted the Australian Grand Prix since 1996 and provides a stiff test for the F1 drivers. The high-speed circuit uses a combination of a permanent track and public roads around the Albert Park Lake, meaning that the characteristics of the Melbourne Grand Prix are not dissimilar to those found at Montreal. On his return to Formula 1 Michael Schumacher will be looking to add to his four race wins at Melbourne and once again emerge victorious at the Australian Grand Prix.
