The challenging Hungaroring in Budapest is one of the toughest but safest circuits on the Formula 1 schedule. The twisty track makes overtaking difficult and means that the qualification stage of the Hungarian Grand Prix is essential, with a higher proportion of pole winners going on to take the chequered flag when compared to other F1 circuits. The McLaren Formula 1 team has dominated the Hungarian Grand Prix in recent years, with Lewis Hamilton’s wins in 2007 and 2009 sandwiched by ’s victory in 2008.
