Round 11 Germany

Track History: Nurburgring (1951-1976, 1985 and 2009), AVUS Berlin (1959) and Hockenheimring (1970, 1977-)

Most Successful Drivers: (4 wins), Juan Manuel Fangio (3), Jackie Stewart (3), Nelson Piquet (3) and Ayrton Senna (3)

The current, much shorter Hockenheimring circuit was introduced in 2001 and is one of the flattest Grand Prix circuits on the Formula 1 calendar. The shortening of the track has meant that there are now more opportunities for overtaking manoeuvres in once of the easiest tests that Formula 1 drivers will face in 2010. The future of the Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring remains uncertain due to licensing costs imposed by Formula 1 management and the state of Baden-Wurttemburg losing money. The last winner at the Hockenheimring was in 2008, after won the Grand Prix last year that was held at the Nurburgring.
