Red Bulls Pace

Is it me or is the pace of Red Bull just seriously high. 3rd place for the spanish grand prix was .9 of a second of 2nd place which is just ridiculous.

I have to agree with schumacher that Red Bull's pace is frightening as no team can get close unless its a wet race then teams might be able to take a fight to the Red Bull cars.Any opnions on the pace of Red Bull and any theories on why they are so fast.

I don't know the ins and outs of the Red Bulls' ride height but their pace certainly is frightening. Agree that other teams are relying on rain and/or for them to have reliability issues right now and I can't see it changing any time soon!

Seems their qualifying pace is mezmorising but for races the advantage isn't quite so great. With their massive downforce you can't really look past them for Monaco, although I'm intruiged to see how they do at a few of the lower downforce tracks.

I don't think it's massive downforce that's putting the car at the front of the grid, it's just very good indeed in quick corners. Reports are saying at Barcelona, at turn 9, teams were running in 5th gear and lifting, while the Red Bulls were flat out in 6th, nearly 20kph quicker. Yet, on the long straights, they were 22nd and 23rd in the speed traps!
Whatever the team are doing, they are on another tangent of development to anything else on the grid. It's by no mean the perfect car, but on faster flowing tracks it's a level above all others. Monaco? That's a different story.
