Most parades are free to watch...

So here we are with no refueling...
Dear god how can the FIA make F1 better???
I know! Get rid of the suspense of fuel strategies so that the fastest qualifying car will stay in first for the entire race thus making it pointless to even watch past qualifying.I mean the only passing now is when cars get lapped!!!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHYYYYY THE FIA DECIDED ON NO REFUELING?!?!?!

A opinion of my about the refueling ban is that F1 will become like NASCAR where you will have to wait for a big crash to get even something enjoyable or watchable.
I totally agree with you Mark on the fact that onl lapped cars will be the overtaking in F1.
I think the FIA (Under Max Mosely Era) decided it would make racing more challenging for the drivers and better for the fans.
F1 needs to bring back re-fueling, start the cars on a full tank and see how the strategy is played out by the teams, should do something to inject some life into the corpse that is F1.

We're only 1 race into the season but have to agree that the ban on refueling looks to have massively backfired.
Is there a relatively straightforward way to make overtaking easier or is this incredibly difficult because of the turbulent air, etc?

Honestly I would stop looking at the cars and start looking at the tracks. How many times have we hear drivers talk about how hard it is to pass at (fill in the blank with 3/4 of the tracks on the schedule). I mean when you look at tracks like Imola and Magny Cour that have long straights followed by wide hairpin turns or at least offer some flexibility in racing lines then passing can happen. But everyone is so enamored with Herman Tilke and his fabulous sight lines, increasing and decreasing radii turns, arbitrary kinks where none are needed and layouts that wrap, fold, and collapse in on themselves that they have forgotten what makes racing interesting. THE COMPETITION!!! Drivers fighting each other for position because THEY CAN. Look at the Kimi/Lewis battle at Spa '08. Do you think that can happen on a modern track? I mean the Chinese circuit was loosely designed after Chinese calligraphy. What in gods name does calligraphy have to do with drivers being able to pass each other?
And don't get me started on street circuits! Monaco makes the FIA and the sponsors tons of money but it's nearly the worst race on the calendar. AND WITH NO REFUELING... Just watch qualifying and skip the race. The only passing will happen in the pits.
And back to the cars. If the FIA mandates that cars be designed to pass each other more effectively the engineers will do it while at the same time designing the cars so they are not so easily passed.
So in conclusion the problem isn't with the cars or the drivers. There's just no place to pass. In Hamilton's interview after the race he said he was stuck behind Nico forever and finally passed him with his pit stop. He could have been up there challenging the Ferraris and Vettel. And that's what we want!
