Friday Drivers - What's the point?

With the changes in the regs for this year, the fact that refueling is banned has scuppered young drivers breaking into F1 this year. In past seasons, a young driver could have a morning session for experience, or to put their face in the shop window come "silly season". Now, drivers need to learn the car on heavy and light fuel loads so all their time is on track gaining data.
Coupled with the ban on testing, are younger drivers not being given the chance as in previous seasons?

Good question, younger drivers probably are being hindered to some extent and you wonder how and when people like Anthony Davidson will get any sort of chance to shine.
