Well, Formula One hurled themselves out of the crisis. Fantastic race.
Many will argue it is the rain that helped, but I also feel the older, traditional tracks are generally more exciting anyway. Places like here, Monza, Spa and Silverstone should never be removed from the calendar. Soulless venues in the desert are not helpful.
Jenson Button showed his doubters that he is a great driver and a superb tactician. Great, risky shout on his tyres. Other drivers should take note.
Hamilton has disgraced himself somewhat this weekend, though. Forget his brush with the law, his attitude stunk today. Blaming his team, both during and after the race, is not the way to go about it. Make his complaints behind doors.
Good drives for Kubica, Alonso and also Alguersuari. Going wheel-to-wheel with Schumacher will have been the proudest moment of his life.
Brilliant race, and hopefully this sets a precedent for the rest of the season.

Agree, the race was fantastic and the track and weather conditions definitely helped, and it showed that no refuelling can work - Hamilton's 2nd pit stop illustrates that.
Was good to see Di Grassi and Alguersuari giving Schuey good battles and not fearing his reputation.
Let's hope that we get more GPs like Australia and not Bahrain throughout the rest of the season, but remember how quickly optimism can turn to pure disappointment!

A crisis in Formula One? I don't think so after the Australian GP.
Yes the rain did play its part but what a cracking drive from Jenson Button. I did as I'm sure many of us did question why Button came in so early. But the decision paid off unlike Hamilton's two-stop strategy.
I thought Kubica put in a sterling drive for Renault. The start he made was great and he managed to hold off Hamilton pretty well. He is without a shadow of a doubt a star for the future.
Schumacher has not really stepped up to the plate just yet but I do expect him to win some races come the end of the season. Good to see the rookies making it difficult for Schumi to overtake them.
One driver who has not been mentioned and has been under the radar is Tonio Liuzzi. The Italian has finished in the points in both races and is doing a good job for Force India. For me the team to watch out for are Force India. Any thoughts?

I am very happy for Button but I wouldn't say he is out of the woods yet. After Fisi's Aussie GP win in 05 he went on to tank the rest of the season as Alonso went on to the WDC. Jens is smooth and I like him a lot but he has never shown that IM COMING THROUGH AND YOU CANT STOP ME attitude on the track like Vettel, Hamilton and Alonso. His style is good for helping to secure the constructors championship but I still have concerns about his ability to fight for the drivers title.
And while I will agree that Hamilton shouldn't have vented over the radio to his team I do understand his frustration. He needs points NOW. Because if Red Bull ever manage to put Vettel in a car that will finish a race it's lights out for everyone else. And that decision to pit was catastrophic. His times were good and his tires were good. Why? How can you as Mclaren make a mistake like that? Kubica's tires went off near the end of the race and eventually Hamilton would have had him.
But still you shouldn't pop off like that. But I wouldn't go so far as to say that his reputation has been further maligned. He mad more outrageous passes than any other driver out there and it wasn't against Lotus. He's a monster and he wants to win. Can you blame him?

I don't think Mclaren made a mistake, they tried to pre-empt a second round of pitstops that never happened. Hamilton is a great racer and overtaker and has this will to win as previously mentioned, but were his tyres going to last the race the way he was driving?
And if you dangle the carrot in front of Button, he goes for it. Interlagos last year anyone? That was proof that when Jenson has the bit between his teeth he's as good as anyone. The real question is, can he get himself motivated this early in the season?
