It started with a puff of smoke; it ended with a cracked exhaust pipe.
Despite finishing 15th and 17th, it was a very commendable debut for the Lotus F1 team. The team were generally expected to be the best of the newcomers and this proved to be the case at the Sakhir circuit.
Now that the first race of the 2010 season is out of the way and with time to reflect, it seems only one conclusion can be reached over Renault’s weekend. Disappointing.
Force India managed to secure their first points of the 2010 season at the Bahrain Grand Prix with Vitantonio Liuzzi coming home in ninth. Adrian Sutil finished outside the points in 12th.
Mercedes GP suffered the same emotions as the F1 owners this weekend. After all the build-up, the Bahrain GP was a big let-down.
