Virgin Racing competed in their very first race at the Bahrain Grand Prix, shame it was a short one for both drivers.

New recruit Lucas di Grassi only managed 2 full laps after a believed cooler split, ruining his dream of finishing on his debut.

Now into his third season, Timo Glock faired a little better completing 18 laps, where he managed to overtake a rival Lotus, before a gearbox problem ended …

It started with a puff of smoke; it ended with a cracked exhaust pipe.

Red Bull showed incredible pace in Bahrain, but reliability issues hindered them in a race they should have won.

Sebastian Vettel was comfortably leading the race before his exhaust problems lost him his power, and he was consequently passed by both Ferrari’s and Lewis Hamilton. He should have picked up 25 points; he ended up with 12, though …

Now that the first race of the 2010 season is out of the way and with time to reflect, it seems only one conclusion can be reached over Renault’s weekend. Disappointing.

An 11thplace for Robert Kubica and a DNF for Vitaly Petrov after 13 laps was all they could achieve after a lacklustre race which saw an impressive performance by Ferrari at the head of the field. At the moment Renault can …

Force India managed to secure their first points of the 2010 season at the Bahrain Grand Prix with Vitantonio Liuzzi coming home in ninth. Adrian Sutil finished outside the points in 12th.

Had Sutil not collided with Renault’s Robert Kubica on the opening lap, he might well have found himself coming home in a points scoring position but it was not to be.

Mercedes GP suffered the same emotions as the F1 owners this weekend. After all the build-up, the Bahrain GP was a big let-down.

Michael Schumacher was back, Nico Rosberg would push him all the way, and they had a car to compete at the front. That’s what we thought.

Well, they performed the poorest out of the four top teams. 5th and 6th may make it seem like they were competitive, but they …

The new partnership of Kamui Kobayashi and Pedro De La Rosa looked steady after the first day’s practice at the Bahrain GP.

The attacking force of the Japanese driver was visible to all after he recorded the 11th quickest lap in session two after a poor first session by his standards.

Team-mate De La Rosa also had a mixed session on the first day of the 2010 season as he finished a place …
