Jenson Button has revealed for the first time that he is enjoying being the main man at McLaren.

Button has been in fantastic form of late and looks set to claim 2nd position in the driver standings, while his team-mate Lewis Hamilton has had a season to forget.

When asked about what went wrong for Hamilton in India, Button joke: “I don’t give a f***.”

He continued: “If you have someone like Lewis, who is bloody quick, it means a lot when you can finish in front of him, yes.”

“He is also another world champion, so he is no slouch.”

“We all want to beat our team-mate, whatever we say. That’s the way it is. We have the same equipment. It is a real challenge to beat him, but that is the challenge I wanted when I came here.”

“I wanted to find out where I really stand compared to Lewis. I have had better races than Lewis in the second half of the season, but he has had phenomenal races when I have not been able to touch him.”

“Lewis will be strong next year. Sometimes you wish he wasn’t that quick but it is competitive. He will definitely be there next year, no doubt, and we will have good fights and you will have two Brits fighting it out for the championship.”
