‘A new Lewis Hamilton is coming’
Anthony Hamilton has told Formula 1 to expect a new and improved Lewis Hamilton during the 2012 season.
As has been well documented, Hamilton has had a very frustrating 2011, but his father is convinced the best is still to come.
He said: “He’s turned a corner in everything he’s done, his lifestyle and his love of motorsport.”
“You’ve not seen Lewis Hamilton yet, you’ve seen a young Lewis Hamilton. Now a new Lewis Hamilton is coming.”
There were signs of improvement at the Korean Grand Prix of course, with Hamilton securing pole position before finishing second to Sebastian Vettel.
The 26-year-old showed the type of form Formula 1 had come to expect of him after he became World Champion in 2008 and there appears to be more to come.
Referring to the criticism his son has received so far this year, Anthony Hamilton continued: “There’s only so much that one person can take.”
Lewis is an extremely talented individual and I tell you what, most of us would not have been able to come back from what he has had to face this year.”
“I think in Korea, he showed just how much of a champion he is, not just as a racing driver but as an individual.”
“Let’s face it, he’s had a tough year, he’s faced a lot of criticism and yet still he comes back fighting and can produce results that he did last week.”
“He’s an incredible man and an inspiration to so many people.”
Hamilton will certainly hope that he is one of the favourites when it comes to live in running betting in 2012. He will also be keen to finish 2011 with at least one more Grand Prix win.
There has of course been another Lewis Hamilton story in the news today – he has split from long-term girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
The pair both have very busy work commitments and it appears that this ended up having the final say on their relationship.
A source revealed: “Nicole and Lewis have tried to make it work but realised it’s just not happening so have called it a day once and for all.”
“They’ve spoken at length about it but agreed there’s no point as they never see each other. They spend their whole time on opposite sides of the world.”
“Although they came to an amicable decision, Nicole is actually devastated about it. She thought Lewis was the one.”
What affect this has on Hamilton’s performances in Formula 1, if any, remains to be seen.
He will next be in action next weekend as the 2011 season heads to the Indian Grand Prix.
Beyond this, there are only two races remaining – in Abu Dhabi and Brazil – after which focus can be turned to the 2011 Formula 1 season and the new Lewis Hamilton.
