Alonso ‘hopes to be with Massa for many years’
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has revealed that he hopes he can drive on the same team as Felipe Massa for many years to come.
Massa – who is Alonso’s current team-mate at Ferrari – has been linked with a move away when his current contract expires at the end of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
However, despite reports that Lewis Hamilton could move to Ferrari in the future, Alonso revealed his ambition to drive alongside Massa for the forseeable future.
He said: “I am very happy with Felipe and I hope to be with him for many years.”
As for the links with Hamilton, Alonso – who is contracted with Ferrari until 2016 – says that whoever joins him in the future will be worked with productively for the sake of the team.
The Spaniard continued: “If another driver comes there will be no problem, we would work the same way for the team. And if Hamilton comes, the same. If we were team-mates in another team it would be a much cleaner and real fight.”
