Sweet Revenge – Formula1 FanCast 009
Red Bull’s Mark Webber took the chequered flag at this years British Grand Prix to claim his third victory of the season. The Aussie was reeling come the end of Saturday when his front wing was given to his team-mate Sebastian Vettel in qualifying. But it was Webber who came out on top in the race.
Despite problems with their upgrades, McLaren had another decent weekend with Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button finishing the race second and fourth. Button who qualified 14th put in another impressive drive to finish in the top four.
Mercedes GP had a much better weekend with Nico Rosberg finishing the race in third. Although Michael Schumacher could only manage ninth both Rosberg and Schumacher made it into Q3 in qualifying.
Ferrari had yet another weekend to forget with both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa finishing outside the points. It was a weekend that promised so much after Alonso qualified 3rd and Massa qualified 7th. But it was not to be.
Both Williams and Sauber have enjoyed a recent surge in form. Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenburg finished in the points and Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi came home in a superb sixth place. The midfield battle is certainly hotting up.
