Caption Competition: Vettel and Webber’s crisis talks
The 2010 Turkish Grand Prix will be remembered for one moment, the crash between Red Bull teammates Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Holding 1st and 2nd position at the time, it looked as though Christian Horner’s team would be standing proud on top of the podium and were set to extend their lead in the Constructors’ Championship. Then disaster struck as Vettel attempted to overtake Webber, the pair collided and consequently the young German driver was out of the race. Webber was also majorly impacted and he was forced to have to settle for a 3rd place finish, as the McLaren’s of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button took their opportunity to overtake, with Hamilton going on to win the race.
After the crash Vettel was seen indicating that he thought his teammate was crazy, and he returned to the pits where his Red Bull team didn’t seem too unhappy with the German’s actions. Webber on the other hand also seemed to lay blame squarely with his teammate, with the Australian indicating to Hamilton in the post race press conference that he thought Vettel sharply turned right into him. The consolation for Webber is the fact that he still leads the 2010 F1 Drivers’ Championship and goes into the Canadian Grand Prix looking to build on his 5 point lead over 2009 Champion Button.
So where does the blame lay? Mark Webber has since called for a united Red Bull, something that they’ll have to be if they want to be successful for the rest of the Formula One season. The picture above shows a reconstruction of the crisis talks that were held between Vettel and Webber after the race. Happy go lucky Vettel seems to be explaining his side of the story but Webber looks less than impressed!

Vettel: “I was overtaking like this…”
Webber (thinking): “What is that you’re wearing on your head?”
Vettel: blah blah blah
Webber: (thinking to himself) Man that hat is appropriate!
Old picture, unrelated to the event.
@Jakob: Killjoy.
Vettel: “The hat makes me No.1, Mr Horner said so”
Webber: “Not in a million years”
“Just like that, hahaha”
Mark: Well that explains why you ran into me then, you klutz, if you had that stupid thing over your eyes!
