Possibly the biggest question for this season, is Sebastian Vettel Germany’s next Schumacher?

The way he is and has been driving, even in his Toro Rosso days, everyone is expecting him to be on the podium many times in the future. After scoring his first point, in his first race and becoming the youngest driver to get a point in an F1 race, he has been constantly praised about his ability since then. Not as much attention compared to Hamilton, but Vettel would have to have done a lot more on his debut than win everything on that racing weekend. But scoring a point on your debut is very impressive, people remember when Raikkonen got a point on his debut, eventually became world champion, we will say the same for Vettel?

Back then there was a lot of scepticism about how good he would turn out to be. But his mature and composed driving and wins in tricky circumstances will surely have answered most of the doubters. Especially when he was driving for Toro Rosso at the time. So, how good do we think he is now? After winning the Italian Grand Prix and hearing Germany and Italy’s anthems, it was clearly a sign of this guy becoming the new Schumacher. But that moment will remain a coincidence for now. It’s still far too early to tell as firstly he still hasn’t got the luck of Schumacher in terms of reliability. But as he is the first German driver since Schumacher to win a race then I think he has the best chance.

Overall there are still elements of driving ability that Vettel needs to acquire in F1. But he already can say he has won a soaking race, which Schumacher thrived on.
