Reigning world champion Jenson Button led a McLaren one-two at a Chinese Grand Prix which was badly affected by heavy rain.

Button won the day with a perfect strategy which saw him make just two pit-stops compared to his team-mate's four, while Mercedes' Nico Rosberg sealed an excellent third place to complete the podium.

Red Bull duo Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, who had started on the front row, struggled to cope with the inclement conditions and could only finish sixth and eighth.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso had to settle for fourth after a late charge saw him push Rosberg all the way, while Renault enjoyed an excellent race with Robert Kubica coming home in fifth and Vitaly Petrov in seventh.

Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher completed the top ten, although the former lost his lead in the drivers' standings as a result of his relatively lowly finish.

Button now leads the way on 60 points after four races, with Rosberg second on 50 points, with both Alonso and Hamilton one point back from the German.
