is another young star in Formula One.

With only two races under his inexperienced belt at the end of last season Kobayashi must have impressed his BMW owners.

He took the seat at Toyota for the final two races of last season and his attacking driving was certainly eye-catching.

After making his debut at the Brazilian Grand Prix, the 23 year-old Japanese driver must have been in heaven. Kamui was involved in one of F1’s most chaotic qualifying sessions in history as the weather was so bad it caused numerous accidents. He eventually qualified for his first GP in 11th position after over two and a half hours of qualifying.

He finished the race in tenth place, and was later promoted to ninth, with world champion referring to him as absolutely crazy.”

He recorded his first career points at the final race in Abu Dhabi, after a nervy qualifying period, Kobayashi started in 12th but after a tremendous drive he was able to take himself up to 6th and record 3 points.

has commented on the young driver saying

“We can’t judge Kobayashi on two races. They were impressive and justifiably got him the job with Sauber, but now we’ll find out what he’s really made of.”

This season will be one for Kumui to find himself and familiarise himself to F1 driving. He will have no real expectations other than to do well and finish as many races as possible, but with his aggression and passion for the sport he could be a real prospect for big things in the future. If he can be as consistent as he was at the end of last season, he is certainly going to be in the mix up come November 2010.
