It’s now two consecutive points finishes for and will probably be wondering when his luck is going to change.

Throughout Free Practice on Friday and Saturday as well as in Qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix, Sutil was considerably quicker than his team-mate and yet he failed to deliver in the race.

After a promising start to the weekend it ended in disappointment for the German and he was forced to retire on Lap 11. Tonio came home in seventh to bring home six points for Force India.

The result left ’s team sixth in the Constructors’ standings with eight points from the first two races.

Qualifying:

Sutil once again out-qualified Liuzzi and finished in 10th whereas his team-mate ended up in 13th. The Italian just about got into Q2 by setting the 16th quickest time in Q1. It could have been a lot worse.

In both Q1 and Q2, Sutil was over six-hundredths quicker than Liuzzi. So far this season Adrian has out-qualified his team-mate in and . However he has not converted his decent qualifying performance into a point’s finish which I’m sure he will be frustrated about.

Incidents:

In a race full of incidents from start to finish, Liuzzi took full advantage and finished the race in seventh.

Liuzzi looked set to come home in 8th but on the penultimate lap, went into the back of ’s McLaren and lost his front wing. The Aussie was then forced to pit and both Liuzzi and overtook him.

Overall a decent points finish for Vitantonio. The one thing I feel Liuzzi needs to improve on is his qualifying. If he can sort this out then he will find himself competing against the big boys regularly.

Momentum:

If you said to Liuzzi at the beginning of the season that he would have eight points after the first two races, he probably would have taken that. He now needs to build on what he has achieved in the first two races and make a better fist of things in qualifying.

Sutil really needs to up his game. If he continues to not finish in the points then he may find himself in a spot of bother and Vijay Mallya may well give a chance.

The momentum is with Tonio and I am pretty certain that one or two eyebrows have been raised within the team. Adrian was expected to dominate and have the upper hand over Liuzzi but things have not panned out for the German.

Will that change in Malaysia next weekend?
