German Timo Glock will be Virgin’s lead driver in their maiden F1 season in 2010 where the 27 year old will look to build on two solid seasons back-to-back. After competing in karting in his youth, Glock progressed to the Formula 3 Euro series after being named rookie of the year in the German Formula 3 Championship in 2002. In 2004 when he was testing for the Jordan F1 team Glock replaced Giorgio Pantano and competed in 4 races and notably won 2 points on his debut. After 3 years away from Formula 1 during which he raced in Champ Car and GP2, Glock made his return to F1 with Toyota in 2008 but after they pulled out of the sport, the promising German driver who was on his way back from injury signed for Virgin.
