25 year old Robert Kubica is one of a handful of talented rookies in Formula 1 at the moment and the Pole will be hoping that a change of team will result in an improvement in his fortunes. Kubica moved to Renault in the close season after spending all of his 4 previous F1 seasons at BMW Sauber in which he achieved mixed success. Kubica first stepped in for ill driver Jacques Villeneuve in 2006 and amazingly finished 3rd in just his 3rd race to become the first Polish F1 driver to make it onto the podium. A consistent 2007 and a good start to the 2008 eventually petered out and a disappointing 2009 led to BMW leaving F1, resulting in Kubica joining the team he tested for as a youngster.
