Vitantonio Liuzzi continues his return to Formula 1 this season after stepping in for Giancarlo Fisichella for 5 races at the back end of last season and driving for Force India, the team he tested for in 2008. Liuzzi has a strong racing history behind him having competed in Formula 3000 before signing for Red Bull Racing for the 2005 F1 season. The 28 year old Italian won his maiden F1 point that year and was rewarded with a permanent seat at Red Bull’s sister team Toro Rosso for the 2006 season. Throughout 2007 Liuzzi’s future with the team remained unsecure, which made the Italian’s 6th place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix all the more impressive.
