28 year old Spaniard Fernando Alonso moved to Ferrari in the close season, but his F1 career has stalled somewhat in recent years and he will be hoping that his high-profile move to team up with Felipe Massa will reignite his career. One of the most talented Formula 1 drivers of his generation, Alonso started his F1 career at Minardi before securing a move to Renault after just one season. During his 5 years at Renault, Alonso won the F1 Drivers’ Championship in his final 2 seasons with the French team. A turbulent year with McLaren was overshadowed by tensions between the Spaniard and teammate Lewis Hamilton, whilst a return to Renault led to unspectacular results.
